Joe Burris

Born in Jones Springs WV, on December 26, 1963. Joe was the youngest of 5 children. The son of the late James Henry Burris and Violet Virginia Burris. He is a 1982 graduate from Hedgesville High School. Joe is a former Military Police Officer of the Air National Guard. Joe was employed with the City of Charles Town as Chief Operator of wastewater operations for Charles Town utility Board.

He is survived by two daughters Katrina (Mike) Edwards and Cassandra Burris (Cody Barrett); his current wife Laurie Burris; three stepchildren Matt Schoppert (Jen), Amber Schoppert, Cory Schoppert (Kait); Grandchildren; Kaleb, Brayden, Oakley, Knox, and Baby Girl Barrett (expected in June); Step-Grandchildren, Lauryn, Charlei, Blayk, Shawn, and Dylan; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe is proceeded in death by his first wife and soulmate Kendra J. Burris of 20 years along with two brothers and one sister.

Joe loved to spend his free time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He loved riding his Harley and listening to music. Joe was a devoted father and grandfather and a great provider for his family. Joe and his wife Laurie enjoyed vacationing to the sunny beaches. He was one that everybody would go to when they needed advice and somebody that made everybody better by just knowing him. To know him was to love him.

Family will receive friends on Sunday February 5, 2023, from 6pm to 8pm at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg, WV. Funeral services will be Monday, February 6, 2023, at 1pm at Rosedale Funeral Home.
