Born on May 19, 1935 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, he was the son of the late William Calvin and Pearl Wade Pearson.
James was a farmer, a truck driver, and a retiree from Dixie Narco. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Clara Jean Pearson; his children: Barbara Jenkins and husband, Gregory of Rippon, James Pearson of Summit Point, Janet Shifflett and husband, Bobby of Summit Point, Ruby Bageant and husband Randy of Harpers Ferry, and Brenda Caprio and husband, Mike of Summit Point; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William Pearson; and his granddaughter, Jennifer Shifflett.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, January 25th from 1pm until the time of the funeral service at 2pm at Rosedale Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
