Born December 29, 1921 in Mt. Rainier, Maryland, he was the son of the late Floyd and Frances Mutchler.
James was a member of Independent Fire Hall for eleven years where he was known as “Speedy.” He was also a member of the American Legion for over 50 years.
He had a love for animals, especially his dog, Batman.
James will be sadly missed by his wife of 53 years, Veda Mutchler; his children: Patricia and Jennifer Mutchler, and Calvin, Michael, and Steve Hinton; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Sunday from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2pm at Independent Fire Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County.
