Mr. Kline was a 1969 graduate of Martinsburg High School. In high school Gary sang vocals and was a drummer for several local bands. Later forming the band “Free and Easy,” singing lead vocals and playing drums up and down the tri-state area for 18 years. Gary also played with the band “Night Drive” for 6 years led by Jimmy McCumby.
Mr.Kline was a tool and die maker/ machinist for Penn, Wire, and Rope ( later becoming Handy & Harmon) for 25 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Zona “May” Kline of Martinsburg, sister; Paula Lauren of Florida, and daughter Meshell Miller of Winchester, VA.
Gary is survived by his wife and best friend of 25 years, Sandra “Sandy” Kline; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Edward Bates of NM; daughters: Bobbie Jo Jenkins and Angel Divine both of Martinsburg, WV, and Tina Holthaus of Winchester, VA; along with eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews .
Pallbearers will be: Travis Martin, Mason Myers, Edward Bates, Donald Divine, Dustin Ferguson, Ronald Duncan, and Jimmy McCumby.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to those who have helped through this difficult time. Gary will always be our Husband, Dad, Brother, “Pap-Pap” and “Music Maker” and will be forever missed.
Friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Thursday from 7-9pm. Funeral services will be on Friday at 11am at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made on his behalf to Hospice of the Panhandle.
