Born on September 14, 1963 in Harrisonburg, VA, she was the daughter of Naomi J. Miller of Burlington, WV and the late Preston J. Miller.
Dana was a 1981 graduate of Keyser High School. She attended Potomac State College for two years and then went on to attend Shepherd College where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in English and Psychology. She retired as a Social Worker with WVDHHR after over 26 years of service to the State of West Virginia. She attended and was active in the ministries of Restoration Life Ministries in Martinsburg, and was previously a member of Beaver Run Church of the Brethren in Burlington, WV for over 30 years, where she served on the church board, was a member of the Praise Team, and was Director of Vacation Bible School for many years. She was a former member of the local gospel singing group, “United”.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, is her children, John David Diehl of Keyser, Destiny Washington and husband Kevin of Martinsburg, and Damon Branson, Jr, of Shepherdstown; her grandchildren who each held a special place in her heart, Tyler, Ian, Hailey, and Riley Diehl, and Aubrie, Amir, and Kailani Washington. Also surviving is her brother, Todd Michael Miller of Burlington; two close family friends that were like sisters, Tracy Staggs of Burlington, and Julie Stickley of Keyser; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Dana always said that God and her family were the two most important things to her, and she showed that in everything that she did. She gladly and without complaint would always plan her daily life around the needs of her family. She had previously lived with her son to help with the care of her now older grandchildren when they were younger. When her dad's health was declining, she moved in with her brother and parents to help with her dad’s care and to help with the ministries of the church he pastored. Most recently she had been living with her daughter to help with the care of her youngest grandchildren, and even homeschooled them after her retirement.
Dana was a kind, loving, compassionate person that will be missed beyond words. Her family draws peace from Ephesians 6:7, that says "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do." and the belief that she is receiving her rewards in Heaven, and knowing that she is now free of pain and suffering.
At Dana’s request there will be no public viewing.

There will be a “Homegoing Celebration” conducted at Restoration Life Ministries, 800 E. Moler Ave, Martinsburg, WV, on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors Darnell & Kimberly Brown officiating.
