Born on December 10, 1952 in Washington DC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Phyllis Beach.
She lived through her sons and their families, Christopher Ryan Patterson and wife Danielle Patterson (Noland), Joshua Thomas Patterson and wife Kaycee Patterson (Heckman), her friends, and of course her basset hounds. The family is supported by their Aunt Sheri Olson-Beckner, Steven Beckner, their daughter Madeleine Beckner from Half Moon Bay, California, and their Uncles, Jeffrey and Jim McDonald-Mueller from Wausau, WI. Claudia’s loving and fighting spirit lives within her granddaughters Julianna Lynn Patterson and Kaydence Rhea Patterson.
Claudia was introduced to the love of her life, her late husband Tommy, by her lifelong best friend, Gail Farmer. Claudia was always a very loyal friend, family member, and employee.
Claudia received her Music Education Degree from the University of Maryland and was an Accountant for 40 years at Hughes Network Systems, LLC in Germantown, MD. Her golden voice and stellar acting skills could be admired throughout many theaters in the tristate area. She was most proud of her role as Daisy Werthan in Driving Miss Daisy. When she wasn’t performing on the theatre stage, she could be heard as a featured soloist at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, MD. One of her favorite places when she wasn’t on the stage was the Alamo Drafthouse watching the big screen.
She loved traveling with her family and has been to 49 states. She will visit her 50th state, Hawaii, post death and her ashes will be spread in a private ceremony.
Donations in Claudia’s name can be made to The Old Opera House Theatre in Charles Town (Steven Brewer 304-725-4420) or the Apollo Theatre in Martinsburg (Michael Noll at 304-263-6766). Claudia would love for you to support your local theatre by sharing an experience together with your loved ones enjoying a show!
