Carter, Barbara Jean, 68 of Martinsburg, WV. Formerly of Bunker Hill, died August 16th in the Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick Md. Born March 27,1956 at Kings Daughters Hospital, Martinsburg by birth mother, Helen Bernice Green and father, Everette Lee Washington. Barbara was raised by her adopted parents Jerry and Mary Frances “Mom” Carter. She was previously employed as a Nurse’s Aide at Kings Daughters, City Hospital, Bethany House, and Clary Grove Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her brother David Ray Washington and her parents. She is survived by a son, John Matthew, brother Terry, sisters Beverly “Belle,” Farah “Yetta,” and 5 Grandchildren, Aunt Jean Ujima Tyson, Bunker Hill, Aunt Katherine “Babe” Jackson, New York, Uncle Lawrence Green, Martinsburg and her longtime friend, James Rich “Genius” Martinsburg. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
