Mrs. Chavous was a woman of God who was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church in Augusta Georgia. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She was a homemaker & worked as an LPN in numerous nursing facilities. She and her husband also owned and operated Village West Homestyle Laundry for nearly 15 years where she was able to share her Christian testament with countless people in our community. She also worked with Countryside Estates and in numerous homes as a House Parent to the elderly which was her passion. Her son ,Bubba Ginn wants everyone to know what an honor & privilege it was to be able to take care of his mother in the family's childhood home for the last several years along with his wife Teresa and sister Renee."
Mrs. Chavous is preceded in death by her first husband, Hugh Patrick Ginn; second husband, Jack Allen Chavous Sr.; parents, Durham and Nellie Robinson; 5 sisters; and 6 brothers. Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Ferguson (Dale), Renee Young, Sylvia Martin (Robert), Cheryl Bell (Mike); sons, Hugh “Bubba” Ginn Jr. (Teresa), Allen Chavous (Robin) and Rick Chavous (Pam); 21 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Columbia Road. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Maddox and Rev. Nelson Rivera officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers who will honor Mrs. Chavous will be Jeremy Graham, Ryan Abbott, Benjamin Young, Brian Martin, Carl Lynn, Wyndell Johnson, and Donald Ginn. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Johnson, Allen Hudson, Dr Biagio Vericella.
