Robert Howell Slade

Mr. Slade was born to the late Samuel and Mary Elizabeth Slade. He was a Purple Heart Recipient after serving in the United States Army. After the military, He worked for EZ Go, Georgia Power and SRS. His most recent employment was the Supply Manager at University Hospital for 31 years and had to stop working due to his illness. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, collecting arrowheads, Native American Artifacts and minerals. He was also an avid wood crafter and was talented at making many different things. Mr. Slade also had a green thumb and loved growing vegetables and flowers.

Mr. Slade is survived by his loving spouse of 45 years, Fran; children, Donnie Jernigan (Alley), Laura Slade (Rob) and Robert Slade II; and grandchildren, Luke, Cody, Alexandra and Samantha. He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Mary Slade and his sister Laura Lyndell Skelton.

A memorial service will be held from 1-2pm on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Brian Lee Martin. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family.
