He is preceded in death by his mother Sandra Weeks Snyder and baby sister, Angela Thompson Gilliam. He is survived by his parents Charles and Peggy Thompson and siblings Norma (Joe) Edge, Allen Thompson, Dale Thompson, and Shawn (Amanda) Neal; children Bridgette (Chris) Brantley, Richard (Holly) Thompson Jr, Jonathan Thompson, Donald (Jennifer) Thompson, Daphonie Thompson, and Danielle Thompson; grandchildren: Amelia Cooper, Olivia Cooper, Abigail Thompson, Miley King, Christian Brantley, and Renley Thompson, as well as Finuf Sign Company where his work home was his family as well.

A celebration of his life will be open to the public Friday, April 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Revivify Church, 4350 Wheeler Rd, Augusta, Georgia with a private family reception to follow.
