Although Paul was born in Brooklyn, New York, he was a true southern gentleman. He took pride in his family and he was kind to all he encountered. His loyalty and generosity to all who knew him will forever be missed. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He often spent his free time refereeing, golfing and bowling, but he found the most pleasure in spending time with his family. Paul was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Army as an MP from 1965 - 1968. Later, Paul went on to pursue a career in law enforcement and became a respected Lieutenant with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and continued to volunteer his time for Chaplin services even after his retirement.
Left to cherish Paul’s precious memories is his loving wife of 40 years, Susan Andrews; children, Alex (Barbra) Andrews, Paul (Brook) Andrews and Matthew (Mary Dow) Andrews and his grandchildren, John, Douglas, William and Benjamin Andrews.
The family will be receiving friends 5 PM until 8 PM Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Columbia Road chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Elliott Sons. The interment with military honors will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. John Allen, Alex Andrews, Paul Andrews, Matthew Andrews, Adrian Fredericks and Robert Muller will serve as Pallbearers.
