She was born on February 2, 1937 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband Isaac “Buddy” Jolles, her parents Ralph and Ada Abelman, and her brother S. Mark Abelman.
Mrs. Jolles is survived by her children Scott and Karen Jolles of Johns Creeks, Georgia; Marcy Jolles and John Achee of Winterville, Georgia; and Jonathan and Leslie Jolles of Peachtree Corners, Georgia; as well as her grandchildren Rachel Jolles of Boulder, Colorado, Philip Jolles of Johns Creek, Georgia, Lily Jolles of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, and Olivia Jolles of Peachtree Corners, Georgia. She is also survived by many other relatives including nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is a graduate of Chattanooga High School and attended the University of Alabama. In 1967, she married Buddy Jolles and moved to Augusta, Georgia. While in Augusta, she was an active member of Congregation Children of Israel and a sisterhood Woman of the Year. She loved planning parties and events while working at That Party Supply Place in Augusta, Georgia.
Mrs. Jolles was an avid shopper and especially loved buying memorabilia of her beloved Boston Terrier dogs. She was a social butterfly and loved attending events, even if arriving late and being the last to leave.
In 2014, she and her husband moved to the Athens, Georgia area to be closer to her children. Her family especially thanks her loving caregivers with St. Mary’s Highland Hills Assisted Living, St. Mary’s Highland Hills Center for Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care, and Kindred Hospice.
Services will be held on November 19, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. graveside at Westover Memorial Park.
