Kathy Kaleel-Young, 59, passed away on August 7th, 2021 in Grovetown, GA. Kathy was born on July 24th, 1962 in Evanstown, IL to her beloved parents, Earl and Ruth Young. She was the middle sister to her older brother, Kevin, and younger sister, Kelly. In 1969 she moved with her family to Columbia, Maryland. Kathy proudly graduated from Oakland Mills High School in 1980. She worked for Piedmont Airlines, which later became US Air, from 1985 to 1995. In 1993 she married Dave Kaleel.
The biggest joy of Kathy’s life arrived on February 12th, 2003 when she gave birth to her daughter, Karmen. Karmen was Kathy’s “chica,” her world, and there is absolutely nothing she wouldn’t have done for her daughter.
In 2014 she receive an Associate of Arts as a Medical Lab Technician from Miller Mott.
Kathy’s last social media post read, “Be such a beautiful soul that people crave your vibes.” There’s not a better quote to describe the type of soul she had herself... Kathy never met a stranger. For so many her bright smile and friendly nature made an indelible mark. You couldn’t find anyone who was more supportive, encouraging, or uplifting than Kathy—whether you were a life-long friend, or the person behind her in the checkout line in the grocery store. She was a bright, shining light that has left us way too soon.
Kathy was an entrepreneur who focused on creating an online business where she could work on her own terms and time in order to be fully present for Karmen. She thrived with her online businesses and she embraced being a “Boss Boss” for her self and her coworkers and teams.
Kathy was also an amazing sister. There is not a single thing she wouldn’t do for her brother or sister. She carried the spirit of Earl and Ruth forward once they left this earth and very much valued and cherished the magic that is “family.”
Please join us in remembering and celebrating Kathy on Saturday, August 21st from 2 - 6 pm at her home in Grovetown, GA. 1349 Eldrick Lane.
Kathy would want everyone to honor her spirit and pay it forward. Be nice. Be kind. Be a light and joy to others. In lieu of flowers the family is asking everyone to please consider donating to Karmen’s educational trust. Kathy’s biggest wish would be that Karmen is supported and taken care of
