He was born on January 19, 1932, in Hibbing, Minnesota, a son of the late James and Rose Teich Shapiro. He was a graduate of the University of Miami where he met Jackie Cohen, his wife of 66 years.
Jack was the manager of Marks Fabrics in Augusta.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathy S Gross; sons, Joel M Shapiro and John M. Shapiro, son-in-law Richard Gross, daughter-in-law Michelle Shapiro and 5 grandchildren; Matthew Gross, Micah Gross, Jeffrey Gross, Rachel Shapiro, Emily Shapiro and a great grandaughter, Maggie Willa Gross.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, February 12, at Westover Memorial Park, officiated by Rabbi Shai Beloosesky.
