Granville John Ussery

Granville John Ussery, 78, of Evans, Georgia and husband of Bonnie Jean Ussery, passed away on June 15, 2023 at his home. He was born on October 29, 1944 in Northwich Cheshire, England, a son of the late Granville Troy and Evelyn Ussery.

In his youth, Granville attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts, and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. After the Marines, Granville became a land surveyor and worked for Pacific Gas & Electric Company and the County of Kern, California, for almost 40 years. He rose to the position of Kern County Surveyor. Granville enjoyed the outdoors and activities like camping, hunting, and NRA events.

Through it all he was a devoted husband and father, and dedicated to his Christian faith. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jean Ussery; sister, Kathy Williams; son John Ussery and his wife Michelle; son Troy Ussery; and grandchildren Megan Nicole and Rachel Lynn Ussery.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, June 23 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, 30907. The funeral service will be at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, June 24 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow the funeral service at Hillcrest Memorial Park located at 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, 30906.

Pallbearers will be Frank DeRosa, Daniel Rust, John Ussery, Troy Ussery, Robert Voyles and Sam Voyles.
