Blanche G. Collins, age 95 of Martinez, Ga. went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2021. She was born to the late Alton and Arrie May Hartley on October 25, 1925 in Stedman SC. She was the loving and faithful wife of her childhood sweetheart Earl Robertson Collins, already passed away on April 22, 2000. She was a devoted mother and wife and served her family as a loving and dutiful homemaker. Her passions were Church, family and friends. She was a very humble person and after God she always put others first. She was our precious mother, grandmother and friend. When she meets God in Heaven, we feel sure that He will say "Well done, my good and faithful servant." For 50 years, until no longer physically able, she served at Martinez Baptist Church as choir member, Sunday School teacher, and class secretary. She had a quiet demeaner and everyone that knew her loved her. Although rather reserved she had many talents. She was an expert seamstress and made beautiful dresses for her children and grandchildren in their childhood years. She sang perfect pitch alto and played the rhythm and bass guitar by ear. She and her husband played and sang at various events including Community Centers and even on local radio broadcasts in their early years. She also painted professional looking landscape and floral watercolors. Blanche enjoyed five generations of family. She was survived by two children: Joan G. Gordon, of Woodstock Ga. and Earlene LaFontaine of Appling Ga. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
