Bessie Lee Carter

Mrs. Bessie Lee Carter, 92 of Grovetown, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11am in the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Rev. James Kight officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Mrs. Carter was a native of Lyons, GA and has lived in Augusta most of her life. Bessie Lee loved cooking, traveling, and playing cards. Her most precious time was spent with her family. Her daughter Carolyn was her best friend and companion all her life before she passed away this past December. Bessie Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff D. Kight and Nancy Lillie Jewel Kight, husband, Harold Carter, son, Edward Carter, daughter, Carolyn Spencer, 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son Eugene ( Betty) Carter, sister, Myrtle Davis, daughter in law, Bonnie Carter, grandchildren, Elaine (Jim) Steed, Edie Johnson, Angela (Jeff) Magruder, Ricky (Lisa) Rickerson, Stephen Rickerson, Dan (Ashley) Carter, Jeff (Amy) Carter, Laura (Justin) Coleman, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Regency Hospice, Aggie Kirkland, and Barbara Burton for their loving care. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
