Mrs. Ruth D. Hunt

Ruth Duracher Hunt, of New Orleans, was promoted to Glory on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the age of 86 after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of Rev. Paul V. Hunt for 65 years and the loving mother of Paulette Hunt Mason Bilderback (Pastor Ed Bilderback) and Rebecca Hunt Smith (Pastor Steven A. Smith). She was the devoted grandmother of Lori Mason Champion (Pastor Joe B. Champion), Pastor Paul Daniel Mason (Brooke Shockley Mason), Pastor Matthew David Mason (Paula Simoneaux Mason), Stephanie Smith Otterstatter (Jason K. Otterstatter), Rachel Smith Bautista (Johnny E. Bautista) and Josiah William Smith as well as the great-grandmother of Joseph Mason Champion, Connor Paul Champion, Hunter Matthew Mason, Jackson Davis Champion, William David Mason, II, Elisabeth Lauren Mason, Joel David Mason, Elias Graham Otterstatter, Kiersten Hope Bautista, Jenna Kate Mason and Isabella Faith Bautista. She was the daughter of the late Alton Louis Duracher and Mary Agnes Caldwell Duracher and the sister of the late Frank Louis Duracher.

Rev. and Mrs. Paul Hunt founded Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Gretna, LA in 1960 and served together in Ministry for over 50 years. She was also a member of WestPoint Church, where she served as Co-Director of the Senior Stars Ministry.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at WestPoint Church, 664 Behrman Highway, Gretna, LA 70056. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 beginning at 5:00 PM for family and from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM for the public and again on Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at which time the service will begin. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Pastor Steven A. Smith. Condolences may be offered online at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
