Affectionately known as "Chief", "Dinky", "Jr.", Dad, Pawpaw, or Honey, he was the beloved husband of Rhonda Plaisance Sudo for over 51 years. Father of Kyle Jacob Sudo and Kyra Bulmer; grandfather of Lexi Sudo (William Handy) and Kaya Bulmer; great grandfather of Nevaeh Sudo, Santana Sudo, and Za'kaiya Handy; son of the late Nile Marcus Sudo Sr and Anna Coutreaux Sudo; brother of Delores Battistella (Herb), and Mona Bernard (Larry), as well as the late Annette Sudo and Michael Sudo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He grew up in Harahan, but married a Westwego girl, and has been there ever since, since 1972. He was proud of his Native American heritage, and was a member of the Houma Indian Nation. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, hunter, gardner, motorcycle rider, hands on father and grandfather, and husband. He was a member of the NRA, Patriot Guard Rider, SCV, SCV Mechanized Calvery, Star Touring, Gold Wing Riders, Wegeaux Riders, and Gray Beard Society. He served in the Army as a Track Driver and Marksman.
A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in the Gates of Heaven Mausoleum.
