Miriam Rita Danos

Miriam “MeMe” Rita Roberts Danos entered peacefully into heaven on Saturday, September 2, 2017, with her loving family at her side. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Jesti “Goose” Danos. A loving mother of Ina Danos Thibodeaux (Companion Kenneth Harrell and the late Rodney “Rocky” Thibodeaux), Gaynel Danos Thibobeaux (the late Joseph “Joe”) and Nettla Danos Gordillo(Jose, Sr.). A proud grandmother of Nicholas Thibodeaux (Lynn), Martha Thibodeaux Lemoine (Rodney), Marjorie Thibodeaux (Companion Ernie Melford), Mia Danos, Mayra Gordillo, Jose Gordillo, Jr., Justin Gordillo, Jesus Gordillo and great grandmother of; Madelyn Thibodeaux, Nickson Thibodeaux, Reigan Thibodeaux, Macie Lemoine, Jonette Lemoine, Ernie Melford, Jr., and the late Baby Thibodeaux, Baby Joseph Lemoine. Daughter of the late Nettla Curole Roberts and John Roberts, Daughter-in-law of the late Alma Cantrelle Danos and Alex Danos. Sister of Martha Roberts Pizani (Rosemond “RJ”) and preceded in death was Eugene Roberts, Helen Roberts Charrier (Ellis), Theresa Roberts Perrin and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Sherry Perkins and Johnny Perkins. She is also survived by her sister-in-law; Gloria Roberts and brother-in-law; Andrew Perrin, Sr., numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Age 78, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and lifelong resident of Lafitte, Louisiana. She graduated from West Jefferson High School. A homemaker by trade, she loved cooking, worked in the shrimp factory, a teacher in the church, worked at Voleo’s, needle point, and spending time with her family and friends. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff and doctors of Ochsner – Westbank and her care givers, Jessica, Shawn Marie and Dion for their compassionate care given to Ms. Miriam.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Christian Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
