Michael John Brunet

Michael John Brunet Sr. passed away peacefully August 9th, 2017 in Marrero Louisiana. He was 70 years old. Michael Sr. was the devoted husband of Janis Brunet (Carmadelle) and son of the late Valcour and Eula Brunet. Loving father of his two sons, Michael John Brunet Jr. (Stephanie) and James Robert Brunet (Frances). Brother of Russell and Albert Brunet, and brother-in-law of Fernand Carmadelle Jr., Michael Cain Sr., and Lawrence Badeaux. Grandfather of Nicolette, Nicholas, Mackala, Victoria, and Seth. Michael’s sister-in-laws include Cynthia Ann Carmadelle, Patricia Badeaux, Lisa Cane, Cynthia Marie Carmadelle, Dorita Brunet, the late Alice Carmadelle, and the late Aloma Brunet. Michael was also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Years of service were dedicated to Azalea Fleet Inc., EB Ludwig, Avondale, as well as Oscar Julia Filling Station. Michael enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hunting, trawling, playing pool, and camping. He took great pleasure in partaking in numerous organizations throughout the years, such as contributing as a volunteer fireman, a mason, the Masonic Farhead Grotto, and Ernest J. Tassin Senior Center. Services will be at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home beginning with a wake on Tuesday August 15th 6:00pm-9:00pm and a service beginning the next morning at 9:00am at Westside Funeral Home, before mass at Our Lady Of Prompt Succor at 11:00am.
