Mervin Raymond Bourgeois Sr.

Mervin was the devoted father of Laura Bourgeois Clease, Michael Bourgeois, Lynn Bourgeois, Lorraine Bourgeois, and Mervin Bourgeois Jr. (Clarice). Loving Paw-Paw of Eric Clease (Janelle), Adam Clease (Martina), Casey Bourgeois (Ingrid), Kaytlyn Moffatt (Michael), Karly McDonald (Dennis), Rachael Yepez (Galo), and Brittany Matherne (David). Great-Grandfather of Amaya, Layton, Emma, Everitt, Noah, Saylor, Roman, Vivian, and Baby McDonald. Brother of Sheldon Bourgeois (Cathy), the late Joseph Bourgeois, Emelda Bernard, Ella May Freeman, and Barbara Landry. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Mervin was a proud Marine. He worked at Barbe's Dairy and retired from Southern Pacific Railroad.

Mervin was an active bowler for more than 50 years. He was a 25 year member of the Nicholson Golden Age Club. He won numerous awards in the Louisiana Senior Olympics for the past 25 years. He loved country music and dancing with all of his dancing buddies. He loved crawfish, but his favorite was shrimp. He could eat his weight in shrimp. He enjoyed playing cards with a regular group of friends monthly.

A Memorial Visitation for Mervin will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the American Heart Association.
