Mathilde Marie Fabre

Mathilde Marie Fabre passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the age of 95. She was born in Harvey, Louisiana on November 13, 1929 to the late Roy Scioneaux, Sr. and Elvire Scioneaux. Devoted wife of the late Clifton Fabre, Sr. Loving mother of Dale Orr (the late Glenn), Trudy Cole (Greg) and Clifton Fabre, Jr. (Phyllis). Proud grandmother of Cindy Robinson (Jeff), Scott Cole (Brandy) and Brad Fabre (Amy). Great-grandmother of Clayton and Brandon Robinson, Blaise and Micah Fabre. Sister of Vickie Scioneaux and the late Roy Scioneaux, Jr., Earl Scioneaux and Ned Scioneaux. Mathilde is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and her special friend and caregiver, Sheila Mason.

She enjoyed league bowling at Westside Bowling Lanes, making ceramics as gifts, dancing, reading and arranging flowers. Mathilde also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends for the holidays. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

Mathilde was the president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Harvey Post 9034. She retired from F.W. Woolworth, where she worked as a sales clerk. She was a member of the Marrero-Harvey Senior Center, Belle Terre Golden Agers, and the Golden Tappers.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Mathilde on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. Funeral service will begin at 11:00AM and a private burial will follow.
