Mary Margaret Gerrets Miller

Mary Margaret Gerrets Miller entered peacefully into eternal life on May 8, 2024. She was surrounded by family when Jesus took her by the hand and guided her gently home. Survived by her husband Emile J Miller, Jr. her devoted children, Michelle Banks (Philip Banks), Mindy Miller, Monica Miller, Emile J Miller III (Courtney Miller). Precious grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Emile IV and Evelyn. She is also survived by her sisters, Rhonda Anne Falgout (the late Lloyd J Falgout, Jr.) and Susan Elizabeth Matherne (Norris Matherne). Her sister-in-laws Julie Schultz (Jay Schultz) and Jean Dedebant (Allen Dedebant). Her sweet god-daughters Amy Murphy and Lindsey Boudreaux. She was preceded in death by her mother and father the late Mr. & Mrs. Edward L Gerrets. Her in laws the late Mr. & Mrs. Emile J Miller, Sr. Mary is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly throughout her life.

A lifelong resident of the West Bank she attended Holy Name of Mary in Algiers and Archbishop Blenk High School in Gretna. She then attended cosmetology school and spent her life making everyone beautiful as a hairstylist. What Mary enjoyed most about life was everyone being together. Her sense of humor was infectious and she loved to laugh. Her kind heart, loving hands, Faith in the Lord, selflessness and unwavering strength are going to be greatly missed.

Her husband and children want to express their thanks to Dr. Lillibeth Rochon, all the physicians and nurses at West Jefferson Hospital, Staff of Serenity Hospice and Wynhoven Healthcare Center for their kindness and dedicated care.

Services will be held at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 924 Monroe St. Gretna, LA 70053 May 18, 2024 at 12pm with a funeral Mass to follow. Interment at Westlawn Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Ave Terrytown, Louisiana.
