Mary Kay Bourn Alexander entered peacefully into heaven on Saturday, March 8, 2014. Devoted wife of the late Richard Wayne Alexander for 71 years. Loving mother of Richard Wayne Alexander, Jr. (Connie) and Judy Kay Alexander Meyn. Proud grandmother of Richard Wayne Alexander, III , Marianne Meyn and great grandmother of Alexis, Shawn and Kailah .
Daughter of the late Hallie Meadows Bourn and John B. Bourn. Survived by her sisters and brothers; Dewey Bourn, John Bourn, David Bourn, Marie B. Stone, Susan B. Crawford and preceded in death by Burnell Bourn, Eileen B. Hall, Lenore B. Bautista, Betty B. Mullohan and Steven B. Bourn.
Age 94, a native of Tague, West Virginia and a longtime resident of Marrero, LA.
“Kay” retired from the Westbank Guide after 15 years of service and also worked for the Times Picayune 3 years. Upon retirement, she liked quilting, spending time with her family, cooking, traveling and just enjoying life. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Luling, LA and a member of the ABWA (American Business Women’s Association).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 10:00 am. Visitation on Monday, March 10, 2014, 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 9:00 am until to funeral time. Interment in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie, LA
