Margie Bartholomew

Margie Bartholomew, age 87, of Marrero, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. She was born to the late Alphonse and Georgina Bartholomew on October 9, 1936. Margie was a lifelong resident of Diamond, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her loving husband James Bartholomew. Margie is survived by her loving sisters Elvira Dees (Jimmy), Bessie Schanno (Leo), Connie Bergeron (Ulysses), and brother Anthony "Sonny" Bartholomew (Ann). She is also preceded in death by her loving sisters and brothers Marguerite (Elmer), Carol (Jane), Verges (Helen), Donald (Natalie), Alphonse, Jr. (Louise)

She is the loving mother of Welton Bartholomew (Mary) and Glyn Bartholomew. She is the beloved grandmother of Jessica, Joanne, Bonnie, Glyn, Jr., Kelsey and Kayla and Michael (Ginger). Beloved great-grandmother of Jared, Angelo, Isabella, Logan, Kaden, Robert, and Shelby. Loving great great-grandmother of Jayla, D'Angelo and James. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Margie loved going to Boomtown Casino where this was considered one of her many pleasures. She loved to dance, spending quality time with her sisters which they were considered "The Golden Girls". Her children and grandchildren always made her feel extra special and she adored and loved them all very much.

To honor her memory a visitation for Margie will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 10:30 AM until the service time at 1:00PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072. A committal service will directly follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana.
