

as Half-Step, L-Wood and most fondly as Honey) passed away
peacefully on February 2, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He
was 80 years old.
Lynwood was the son of the late Herbert and Lillian Allemore. He is
survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patsy Matherne Allemore, his
son Eddie A. Allemore (Jennifer),and daughter Lynn-Marie Allemore
Fernandez (Darin). He was the proud grandfather of Chad
Lynwood, Katelyn Marie (Dwayne), Blaine Joseph, Bryce Patrick,
Ashlyn Elizabeth, and Alyssa Rae. The family would also like to
recognize Andrea Stumpf and Christina M. Walls for always being
there for Honey and being a part of his life. He is also survived by his
brother Curtis Allemore (Barbara). He was preceded in death by his
brothers Gayle, Floyd and Robert Allemore.
Lynwood was a man of many trades. He started his employment at
Ullo’s Hardware Store working with his great friend, Chris Ullo. He
served as a supervisor of the State of Louisiana’s Contractors Board,
and Executive Host of Boomtown Casino. Most recently he was an
individual consultant with Rise Construction Group. Lynwood was a
member of IC POPS dedicating countless hours helping with the IC
Fair and Fundraisers. He was a dedicated patron of Coffee & in
Marrero. He was “The Godfather” of their morning coffee club.
Lynwood was a lifelong Saints fan and never missed a Sunday game.
If you ever needed something or a favor, “The Mayor of Marrero,”
was the man to see. Lynwood was a man of many words, a joke
teller that never left a dry eye in the room. He was most proud of
sharing and passing on his jokes to his son and his grandsons. He was
truly overall an amazing man and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Tuesday, February 9,
2021 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Exceleration Church, 7737 La23, Belle
Chasse, Louisiana 70037.
Due to COVID-19, all those in attendance are required to wear a
face mask and to practice social distancing.
The family would like to thank all of the workers at Oschner Hospital in
Jefferson Parish and all of his caretakers, especially his pulmonary
specialist, Dr. Kahn.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the Pulmonary
Fibrosis Foundation
