Lorena Margarita Mendieta, age 44, resident of Kenner, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Lorena was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras to Lilian Figueroa (Jose Figueroa, stepfather) and the late Roberto Mendieta. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Julia Redondo Ulloa. She is survived by her daughter, Lillian Elizabeth Cerrato (John Alexander Alvarez del Pino); her grandson, Zayn Alexander Alvarez del Pino; her partner, Darvonn Lanell Ingram; her sister, Jessica Mahely Paz (Carlos Alberto Paz); her brother, Brian Eduardo Figueroa; her sister, Julie Jasmine Figueroa; her niece, Sofia Isabel Paz; her nephew, Kaleb Yosiah Luna; her aunt, Julia Gutierrez (Ignacio Gutierrez); her uncles, Jose Javier Rosales (Elsa Rosales) and Carlos Rosales (Iris Rosales) her cousins, Alfredo Rosales (Liliana Matute), Cristian Rosales (Kenia Naranjo) Mayra Lizeth Reyes, Mary McCollum (Charles McCollum), Stacy Figueroa, Ignacio Gutierrez, Maricarmen Gutierrez, Carlos Rosales, Jennifer Rosales, Erika Rosales, Julissa Rosales, Jessica Rosales, Jared Rosales, Ashley Rosales, Kelvin Rosales, Loany Romero, Jason Romero, Evelia Sanchez, Marion Gonzales, Alice White, Terry Miller, Jimmy Velasquez, Rosman Gonzales, Joshua Gonzales, Pati Kieffer (Carlos Kieffer) and many more in the Rosales, Figueroa, and Mendieta families.
Lorena was a sweet, loving, and charismatic person. She loved her family and treated anyone she met, as family. She loved to help others; she was one of a kind. She always made everyone laugh and made everyone feel at home. She was a devout Christian and had a grandiose faith in Jesus Christ as her savior.
In her spare time, she loved to cook, watch documentaries and comedy shows, spend time with her family and friends, and meditate in the word of God. She lived a full life; her life speaks for itself. She was extremely loved and valued by many. Lorena will forever live in our hearts.
A visitation for Lorena will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM and will immediately be followed by the committal service at Westlawn Memorial Park, in Gretna
