Joyce Cecile Hebert

Joyce Cecile Hebert passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at the age of 95. She was born on February 13,1928 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Jacob and Camille Gregory. Devoted and loving wife of 71 years to the late Alphonse Simon Hebert, Jr. Loving mother of Marshall Hebert (Diane), Michele Sullivan (Jack), Gary Hebert (Shera “Sam”) and Jacqueline Parkhurst (Bruce). Proud grandmother of Melanie (Craig), Craig, Scott (Lisa), Jeffrey, Andrew (Macie), Connor, Joshua and Paul (Courtney) and great-grandmother of Alexander Hawk, Gracyn, Jacob, Roman, Camden and Austin. Joyce is also survived by many other extended family and dear friends.

Joyce dedicated her life to her late husband, her family and serving the Lord. She enjoyed her shopping trips with her girls, traveling and spending time with her family. Joyce was a retired registered nurse. Even after retirement, Joyce continued to help anyone in need. She also served as an administrative assistant at Our Lady of Prompt Succor church for more than 30 years. She was the recipient of the St. Louis Medallion and the Regina Matrum Award.

The family would like to thank the home sitters for all of their care and devotion.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero. Funeral Mass will be at 12:30 PM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 146 4th St. in Westwego. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in Westwego.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Alzheimer’s Association or a Memorial mass.
