Joseph “Joey” Bourgeois, Jr. entered peacefully into heaven on Friday, May 8, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. After a long illness, “Joey” has moved on to be with his lost great loves. He joins his Mother, Shirley LeBlanc Bourgeois, his true love, Christine’s mother, Eugenie Simon Bourgeois and best friend, Roy Plaisance. He is survived by his loving daughter, Christine Marie Bourgeois, his loving and devoted father and step-mother, Joseph Bourgeois, Sr. and Norma Bourgeois, sisters, Melanie B. Hidalgo (Mike) and Dana B. Cazabon (Ronnie). He leaves cherished memories to his nephew and best buddy, Anthony J. Persica (Alana), nieces, Lauren P. Bray (Cliff), Zoe and Corinne Cazabon, great niece, Coraline C. Bray and great nephew, CCBIII “Tripp”. His step siblings, Naomi R. Miller (Mike), Natalie R. Cambre, L J Raffray (Wendy) and their children as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
“Joey” was a former employee of Barbe’s Dairy and Dash Lumber. He and his beloved Christine loved and celebrated all things New Orleans offers such as Saints, Mardi Gras, Festivals and was an avid “LSU” fan!
The family would like to extend their thanks to West Jefferson Medical Center, Advance Medical Equipment (Robert), Eagan Hospice (Mary) and Dr. Alan Bowers and his staff especially Mary, for their kindness, compassion and excellent care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Monday, May 11, 2015. A Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm. Visitation from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. His interment will be private.
