John Nelson Sylve Jr.

John Sylve, Jr. entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2024 at the age of 72. He was born on January 11, 1952 to the late John N. Sylve, Sr. and Leona (NaNa) Sylve. Beloved husband of 45 years to Melonie B. Sylve. Brother of Nathaniel (Tina), Sherry (Arthur), Wesley (Claudia) and the late Debra Fitte (the late Larry). John is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

John was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Port Sulphur, Louisiana. He enjoyed fishing but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. John was loved and will be dearly missed.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff of West Jefferson Medical Center for their care and support. Also, a special thank you to everyone who visited, called and prayed for John and the family during his time of need. Please continue to keep them in your prayers.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass for John on Saturday, January 4, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 28698 LA-23 in Port Sulphur. Burial will follow at Bartholomew Cemetery in Diamond.
