Joann Adams Ducote, of Marrero, Louisiana entered the gates of Heaven on Monday, October 17th, 2022 at the age of 83. Joann was born in Lockport, Louisiana to the late John and Earline Adams. She was married to E.D. Ducote for 50 years before his passing in 2004. Devoted mother of six children, Ramona Conis (Hubert Jr.), Deborah Brown (Curtis), Robert Ducote, Danny Ducote (Charlotte), Dale Ducote (Laura), and the late Wanda Ducote. Proud Maw Maw of Buddy Marziale (Natalie), Hubert Conis III (Michelle), Chrystie Lynn Devault (James), Jason Brown, Bryan Brown (Jennifer), Tansley Ducote (Cindy), Robert Ducote Jr. (Meghan), Ashley Ducote, Kyle Ducote, Brandon Ducote, Shelby Ducote, Julia Ducote, Jacob Ducote, and the late Christopher Brown, as well as 14 great grandchildren. Sister of the late Marie Anderson and Gerald Adams. Joann is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Joann cared for many children in her lifetime. She cared for her children as well as worked in a daycare for many years. She was also a hairdresser that worked from home during the 1960's. Joann was a devout Catholic that served as a Eucharistic Minister at Visitation of Our Lady Church Parish. In her latest years, Joann lived at Wynhoven Living Center where she attended daily Masses. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to love and be loved by her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 21st, 2022 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A visitation will begin at 9:00AM and continue until the Mass time. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Cemetery #2 in Westwego, Louisiana.
