Joan Laurent Saucier

Joan Marie Laurent Saucier passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Blaise Saucier. Mother of Greg Saucier, Andre Saucier, R. Scott Saucier, Jacques Saucier, Michelle Saucier Sigl, Aimee Saucier Touchstone, Jeffrey Saucier, and Emily Saucier Dwelle. Daughter of Arthur Laurent and Laura Gagnan Laurent. Sister of Mary Lynn Keller (Whitney), Arthur Laurent (Dana), and the late Laura Ann Leblanc (Jerry). Grandmother of Blaise, Elisa, Rae, Annie, Emily, Katherine, Caroline, Ian, Stephen, Leah, Grace, Jared, Madeleine, and Julia. Great grandmother of Irina, Paz, Reagan, and Luke.

She was a native of New Orleans, attended St. Leo the Great Catholic School, and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1950. She was a long time resident of Algiers, and parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. The great joy of her life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic, and active in her parish.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Park Cemetery in Gretna. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
