Joan Carroll Ponthieux, "Memo", passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the age of 90. She was born in Pulaski, Virginia on December 12, 1932 to the late Ralph and Alma Anderson Reese. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Ponthieux, Jr. Loving mother of Beverly Ann Shultz (the late Ernie). Proud grandmother of Brandi Lynn Shultz Helmer (Brad, Sr.) and the late Walter Joseph Shultz. Great-grandmother of Whitney and Brittney Shultz, Brad Helmer, Jr., Ernie Helmer and Kalei, Halei and Balei Helmer. She is also survived by other extended family and friends.
Memo was a long-time resident of Lafitte. She worked as a manager for both Time Savers and EZ Service for many years. Memo was loved dearly by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Friends and family are invited to attend the memorial graveside service on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Restlawn Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3540 US. 90 in Avondale.
