HEBERT James Paul (Jim) Hebert, age 86, a native of Cecilia Louisiana and a long time resident of Marrero, Louisiana passed away on August 11, 2012 at the Grace Care of Cypress facility in Houston, Texas. He served his country during WWII as a proud member of the Marine Corps, being awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received on Iwo Jima. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4222 in Marrero. For many years he volunteered his services to assist the community in completing tax returns. Jim retired from ChevronTexaco having started his employment with Gulf Oil Corporation many years ago. He is survived by Anorine H. Hebert, his wife of 56 years; his son John P. Hebert and wife Kelly of Houston Texas; his daughter Berneda Dowler Broussard and husband James of Plaucheville, Louisiana; and grandchildren Amy Broussard of Dallas, TX, Luke Hebert, Remy Hebert, and Reese of Houston, Texas. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the prayer service from the parlor of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Graveside services will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Gates of Heaven Mausoleum, Westwego, LA.
