Wife of the late and beloved husband Albert “Jack” Darda, Sr. Daughter of the late Theresa B. and Abdon Williams, Sr. Mother of Albert L. Darda, Jr. (Barbara), Jill Darda, Rae D. Carter (Perry), Gay D. Folse (Bryant), and JoAnn Darda (Jacob). Grandmother of Anson Holley III, Kenneth Belala, Jr. (Danielle), Justin Holley, Alicia D. Boudreaux (Heath), Ashley Darda, and also Mike Theriot, Jr., Crystal Folse, and Gia Songy. Beloved Great-Grandmother of Kinsley Holley, who always was able to make Maw Maw smile. Sister of Marguerite Landry and Charles Williams, Sr. (Theresa) and the late Adele Wicker and Delores Knuppel. Survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy Darda. She will also be missed by many wonderful nieces and nephews. She loved and enjoyed all her friends from the church, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was a member of the St. Anthony Altar Society, which she was blessed to be a part of and the LBCP Volunteer Fire Department, which she was grateful for their everyday kindness and service to her and the community. Special thanks to Mayor Tim Kerner.
Sincere gratitude to Dr. Susan Weyer (retired from JenCare), and especially Melinda and her team from Heart of Hospice. “Maw Maw” will be missed by many people whom she had touched and now, another empty space in the neighborhood.
Much appreciation for “Nurse Alicia,” who worked tirelessly and kept a vigil for “Grandma” as she did for Paw-Paw.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation in Idamay’s honor on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church-Lafitte from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Pius X Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the LBCP Volunteer Fire Department or St. Anthony Catholic Church are preferred.
