George Kirby Mayeaux Jr. passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the age of 72. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Dufrene Mayeaux for almost 47 years. He was the father of four, Wendy Craven (Ken Adam), George Mayeaux III, Tammy Nocito, and the late Danny Mayeaux. Grandfather of Derrick Mayeaux, Matthew Craven, Denny Mayeaux, Holly Nocito, and Heather Nocito. Great grandfather of Karter Craven and Adriana Russo. Son of the late George Mayeaux Sr. and Annie Eloise Mayeaux, as well as brother of Jean Ann Marshall and Linda Ann Zimmerman. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, God children, other relatives, and friends. He was an employee of Avondale Shipyard for 47 years.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
