Gail Marie Mitchell of New Iberia, Louisiana passed away on February 18, 2024 at the age of 80. Gail was born in Marrero, Louisiana to the late Louis and Mae Schexnayder on May 24, 1943.
Gail was the loving wife of the late James Lee Mitchell for 47 years. Gail leaves behind her two children, Dale Mitchell (Kristie) and Shelley Dupre (Brian). Grandmother of Kristin Kemp (Jake Kemp), Hailey Ainsworth (Corey), Macy Mitchell, Mia Mitchell, and Maggie Mitchell. Great-grandmother of Nora Kemp and Carter Kemp. Sister of Shelia Mariande (Albert) and the late Steve Schexnayder. Gail is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A family gathering for Gail will be held at Westside Leitz/Eagan Funeral Home on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 11:30 AM, followed by a graveside service at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery at 12:45 PM.
