Douglas Martin Robin Aged 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Born in Alluvial City, LA. Now known as Yscloskey, a once thriving trapping and commercial shrimping capitol of Southeastern Louisiana. He lived in Yscloskey until Hurricane Katrina tore away his beloved Islenos heritage, hence for the past nineteen years he hesitated to call Lafitte, La his home where he lived with his niece, Ellie Robin Melancon, her Husband Steve, their children Daniel and Laura who loved him dearly. Douglas shared his experiences with them with stories prior to the big “K”. He loved to be hugged and drank strong black coffee and loved Lost Bread.
Douglas loved life on the Bayou where he fished, shrimped and trapped. His favorite pastime was sitting on the porch listening to nature, watching the ducks and boats pass by. He whittled on the rocker creating carved ducks and miniature replica boats. The talent he possessed was well rooted in him from his sister Frances and brother Charles, Jr.
Douglas is preceded in death by his parents Margaret Alphonso Robin who passed away when Douglas was an infant and his Father Charles Robin, Sr., his siblings Ruby Smith, Charles Robin, Sr. and Frances Nuccio and his nephew, Anthony Nuccio. Douglas is also survived by his nieces and nephews Terri Robin Lauzon, Frances Nuccio Breaud, Ricky Robin, Nina Nuccio Bankston, Ellie Robin Melancon and Charles Robin, III.
Services will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025 9:30 am - 11:00 am followed by funeral mass at 11:00 am at St Bernard Catholic Church, 2805 Bayou Rd, St. Bernard, La 70085, burial will follow at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
