Doris Blanchard Loyacano passed away on October 15, 2024 at the age of 99. She was born on July 21, 1925 in Morgan City, Louisiana to the late Floyd and Lydia Blanchard. Step-daughter of the late Laura Blanchard. Wife of the late Walter Loyacano. Loving mother of Paulette Champagne (Irvin "Pokey"), Lydia Morgan (Robert) and the late Terry Cuqrow, Sr. (the late Cheryl). Proud grandmother of Jason Champagne, Christine Morgan, Janine Sadler, (Wesley) Teri Annie Cuqrow and Terry Cuqrow, Jr. and great-grandmother of Lacey, Annabelle Morgan and Bryan. Sister of the late Rita Parta. Doris is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She was also preceded in death by her ex-husband, Paul Cuqrow.
Doris lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. She was the past president of the Professional Business Woman of Lafitte, a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hat Ladies, Theta Golden Age Club and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed going to play bingo, sewing, going to parades, traveling in the motorhome and helping others. Doris also loved going to parties, dancing and every year she looked forward to celebrating her birthday at Schnell's but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, October 21, 2024 beginning at 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM and the burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna.
