David Nieves

He is survived by his wife Charlotte Prejeant Nieves, stepdaughter Harlee Underwood (Mitch) and granddaughter Jayme Sumrall and his siblings Juanita Gautreaux, Brenda Nieves, Yvonne Robinson (Roy), Demetrio III "DJ" (Brenda) and Yolanda Jensen (Bill). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, close friends and in-laws, who loved him dearly.

David was a graduate of West Jefferson High School, where he played football. Growing up, he also played baseball and ran track. He retired from Waste Connections. David loved football and was a huge fan of the Saints and Green Bay. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, Mardi Gras, festivals, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service on January 20, 2024 beginning at 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Westside-Leitz/Eagan Funeral Home at 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, Louisiana 70072. Words of Remembrance will begin at 4:00 PM in the parlor. Family and friends are welcome to join, and memories are encouraged to be shared during the service.
