Cindy Crayton West

Cindy Crayton-West, wife of Christopher M West; devoted mother of Caitlin P. Adkins (Claude D Murphy Jr); Daughter of Clinton W Crayton and Estelle E Crayton; sister of Chad A Crayton and Christian M Crayton has left her loved ones with her undying love and enthusiasm on May 20, 2016.

True New Orleans Lady (by heart) adored all things New Orleans and Louisiana. Resides on the Westbank; Class of '83 L.W. Higgins High School Alum.

She was a dedicated teacher and principal for most of her best years, nurturing and educating students at Paul J. Solis Elementary, Gretna No. 2, and Terrytown Academy. She is long survived by not only her family but her hundreds of students and teachers she has mentored over the years.

Aside teaching her passion belongs with the dozens of rescue and foster animals that she has taken in over the years. No animal has managed to be too damaged or flawed to be unworthy of her love.

Friends out of touch may remember her from the Jefferson Parish Orchid Society and Betta Society.

She will be eternally preceded by her daughter, husband, parents, brothers and a litter of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.

Former students, friends, and relatives of the family are invited to attend her Memorial Services at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 5101 Wesbank Expressway in Marrero. Services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 9:00 to 11:30 am.
