Cheryl Wiseman Pertuit, was born in New Orleans, LA, on April 7, 1943, to the late Felix A. Wiseman, Jr. and Zelda Agoff Wiseman, and passed away on April 8, 2020. She was the amazing mother to Darren (Melissa), Byron (Denise), Wade (Darnell) Pertuit and Shea VanVoorhis (Michael). She was the best Gummy in the world to Ryan, Christen (Jonathan), Courtney (Zach), Christopher, Trevyn, Blaise, Matthew (Elizabeth), Taylor, Adam, Jenna, Faith and Dane. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Alayah, Sabin, Julian, Isabella, Ethan, Remy and Annalise; her sisters Cynthia Strander, Neila Barrois and Darcy Griffin, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Thomas Pertuit, step-son, Chris. J. Pertuit and brothers Neil, Mark and Wade Wiseman. Our mom never met a stranger. She could and would talk to anyone, anywhere at any time, even if they wouldn’t listen. Once she knew you, she loved you. She was a world traveler who would drop anything to go on a trip; it didn’t matter where it was. She was full of life, knowledgeable, giving and loving. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to her wonderful nurse from Notre Dame Hospice, Ms. Sheila Murphey, as well as the staff at Wynhoven Healthcare Center. Any donations can be made in her name to The American Alzheimer’s Association.
