Charles "Nunny" E. Rodriguez

Charles “Nunny” E. Rodriguez passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Hilda Constant Rodriguez. Loving father of Danny C. Rodriguez (the late Karen), Darlene R. Sonnier (Paul), Malcolm G. Rodriguez (Tammy), Sarah R. Kellogg (partner, Nathan) and Nanette R. Saucier (JC). Proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren; Christopher Hotard, Elizabeth Doty, Leo DeJesus, Geoffrey Rodriguez, Jessica Gleber, Meghann DeJesus, Sierra Kellogg, and Emily Rodriguez. Great grandfather of 7 great grandsons; Damon, Timothy, Logan, Trenton, Nathan, Grayson and Roman.

Son of the late Thelma Hohensee Rodriguez and Lawrence Rodriguez. Brother of the late Inez Taormina (brother-in-law, Pascal). He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 89, a native of Donaldsonville, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA.

“Nunny” served his country in the United States Navy in World War II and worked for Continental Can Co., as an air condition technician for Leson Chevrolet and as a self-employed air conditioner mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, casinos, cooking and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Post 4222 and a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The family would like the extend their appreciation for their compassionate care of “Nunny” to Canon Hospice staff and doctors.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until Mass time. Interment in Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna.
