Charlene Elizabeth Garcia

Charlene Elizabeth Garcia, entered eternal rest on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at the age of 54. Longtime resident of Gretna and Algiers. Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Garcia, and her parents Warren and Joyce (Rawle) Champagne. Charlene is survived by her sister, Doralynn Jackson; daughter, Danielle Corzantes (Jose), and granddaughters, Marresa, Sophia, and Olivia Corzantes. Charlene was aunt to niece, Jayden Jackson. Also, she was host to many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Charlene was an avid animal lover, no matter the species. She also was a very sociable person. She was known to be able to hold conversations with anyone. She will be missed.

The family and friends of Charlene Garcia are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Westside Leitz- Eagan Funeral home; 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, Louisiana on December 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM. The visitation will begin at 8:00 AM until Mass. Interment will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Charlene's name to the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter, 2701 Lapalco Blvd; Harvey, LA, to help animals in need or through the GoFundMe account created in her honor. Those donations will contribute to placing Charlene with her parents at Westlawn Cemetary, 1225 Whitney Ave, Gretna, LA. The family would like to thank everyone for their contributions thus far and for continued and steady prayers.
