Mrs. Carolyn June Hargis

Beloved wife of the late Jerry Joseph Hargis for 67 years. She leaves behind six children, Ellen Cheramie, Cathy Vallery (Kirk), Wendy Sheeren (Cyril), Jeffrey Hargis (Denise), Mark Hargis and Bobby Hargis (Tricia), along with 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Daughter of the late Hypolite Des Roches and Louise Phillippe Des Roches. Preceded in death by one son, Kevin Hargis, two granddaughters, eight brothers and three sisters.

As a lifelong resident of Marrero, Louisiana, she served for 30 years on the Alter Society at Visitation of our Lady Catholic Church. She loved tending her garden and was constantly planting something new. She loved singing and would regularly break out in song. The music of John Denver always brought her tremendous joy. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could always make you smile. Later in life she enjoyed bingo and kept herself busy with puzzles and her GrandPad. She will truly be missed.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday September 24, 2022 at 1:00 PM, at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd, Marrero, LA 70072 . Visitation for family and friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the church. Interment at Westlawn Memorial Park 1225 Whitney Ave., Terrytown, LA 70056
