Ardelis Sofia Davis, known to friends and family as “Addie,” passed away at the age of 50 on May 20, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 22 years,Timothy McKee, parents Guillermo “Willie” and Asteria Davis, her sister Mildred Kohn and her husband, Robert Kohn, Karen Peralta, her "second mom," over half a dozen nieces and nephews, as well as many cherished friends and their children who became as close, important and irreplaceable as her own family.
Addie was a lifelong resident of southeast Louisiana and a graduate of the University of New Orleans. She was a warm and generous woman, deeply devoted to her friends and family. Often accused of being the life of the party, Addie was always ready to dance, share conversation and offer laughter or tears at a moment's notice. Her compassion and kindness were boundless, making her a beacon of love and friendship who touched the lives of many.
Addie loved being on the beach and sipping margaritas just as much as she enjoyed being in a backyard with friends eating crawfish. She embraced the unique culture of Louisiana and while she loved the city, she was also drawn to the rural countryside of central Mississippi, where she spent a lot of her time.
Though her profession did not define her, Addie was known for her exceptional organizational skills and technical insight. She excelled in the oil and gas industry, thriving in a detail-oriented career.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, from 11am to 1pm at Westside / Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072, immediately followed by Memorial service and repast.
