Annie Ruth Ruth Wohnig Funck

Annie Ruth Wohnig Funck passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Ochsner Westbank Hospital. She was retired from the Navy Exchange after 20 years of service. She was a member of Westside Golden Agers, Marrero-Harvey Senior Center, AARP Chapter 3975 and Chapter 389 where she served as President for several years, and also a member of First Baptist Church of Gretna where she sang in the choir.

The loving wife of Victor H. Funck, daughter of the late Floyd and Eugeina Wohnig, sister of the late Melvin and Eugene Wohnig, mother of Edgar Adkins (Betty Jean), Linda Buras, Bayani Fajardo (Julieta), step-mother of Victor M. Funck, the late Benny Funck, Patricia Deshetler (Matthew), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Westside Leitz-Egan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA and will continue on Monday, May 28, 2012 from 10:00 am until12:45 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with burial to follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna with Rev. Jodi Hennigan officiant.

She loved music, watching television, news, CSI shows, Young and the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful, Perry Mason, riding along Decatur Street and watching the entertainers at Jackson Square, the breakfast bar at Shoney’s, Chicken Livers from Brothers, and Sunday lunch after church at Piccadilly.
