Andrew Irwin Abadie Sr.

Andrew "Pop" Irwin Abadie, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 7, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of the late Hazel LeBlanc Abadie. A loving father of Donald P. Abadie, Sr. (Peggy), Andrea A. King (Larry Hall), and the late Andrew I. Abadie, Jr. Stepfather of Sheila T. Autin and the late Terry Tourelle. A proud grandfather of Donald P. Abadie, Jr. (Kelle), Georgiana Kritikos, Veronica Talbert (Beth), Chris Connell (Nikki), Andrew I. Abadie, III (Alli), Jared Holden, Robie Autin (Kay), Bobbie Lynn Eccher (Scott), Michelle Tourelle, and Laura Brown (Don). Great grandfather of Zachary, Lainey, Adam, James Ryan, Maddison, Samantha, Harper, Hudson, Elliott, Seth and Sophia. Son of the late Georgiana Bollingham Abadie and Andrew A. Abadie. Preceded in death by his sister; Georgiana A. Moore and brother; Leonard R. Abadie, Sr. Numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, also survive him. Age 93, a native of Westwego and a lifelong resident of Westwego, LA. "Pop" served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He retired from Avondale Ship Yard after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Westbank Pigeon Club and he won numerous awards. He was an avid reader of westerns; listen to music and mostly spending time with his family. The daughters of "Pop" would like to thank the staff of Hospice Compassus for their compassionate care given to their father and his awesome neighbors for their help and loving concern.
