He was a native of Dulac, LA, and a long time resident of Port Sulphur. He spent most of his life working on boats, whether a tug boat or fishing boat, he was always at home on the water. He managed the Happy Jack Marina for many years, allowing him to build relationships with people from across Louisiana. He will be remembered for his talent in growing an amazing garden every year, supplying the family, and friends, with vegetables. As a matter of fact he had his garden and several other gardens wherever he could find good ground. He loved to sing. He spent many hours practicing with the band and recording in the studio. As a matter of fact, he created two albums with the Treater Band that we will enjoy listening to for years to come. We also enjoyed his birthday serenades on our birthdays, but we particularly loved his rendition of "Rose Colored Glasses." He passed onto his children and grandchildren the love of fishing, hunting and gardening, as well as the ability to work hard at whatever they do.
A funeral service will be held at River of Life Ministries in Port Sulphur on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Belle Chasse. Express condolences at westsideleitzeagan.com.
